Dr. Stephanie Delorme, DVM

Dr. Delorme grew up in the Ottawa Valley where her childhood home was located on the Ottawa River. From a young age she found herself crossing paths with abandoned and injured animals. Many summers were spent rescuing baby birds that fell into the water in the family boathouse and helping turtles cross country roads. It was these childhood experiences rescuing animals that lead her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Guelph in 2009. She then went on to complete a Master of Science in Biomedical Science at the University of Guelph in 2011 where she studied the regenerative capacity of lizard tails. She recently completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Ontario Veterinary College and joined the team at Kirkton Veterinary Clinic in 2017. She has a special interest in pathology, histology, cytology and reptile medicine. She shares her home with her two dogs, Billy and Bradley, and her one-eyed rescue kitten, Lily. She also has six leopard geckos and a bearded dragon. When she has time Dr. Delorme enjoys baking, bringing her dogs swimming and volunteering with a local wildlife rehabilitator.
